Rachel Yeatts became a CASA in September 2018 and has advocated for eight children in three cases. She serves on the statewide CASA volunteer council and as a mentor for new advocates. Rachel loves this work because it allows her to facilitate the construction of healthy support networks for children who otherwise have no one to speak up for their best interests. CASA is by the child’s side throughout the case and works to build relationships with adults who commit to remain in the child’s life as a caring guide and mentor. The support networks CASA builds begin with medical, educational, and therapeutic care providers, then stabilize with family, friends, teachers, coaches, and other interested adults who want to be there for the child after the case closes.
Rachel is also an accomplished musician and is a member of many organizations including ASCAP, Denton Main Street Association, Denton Songwriters Guild, Fort Worth Songwriters Association, Global Songwriters Connection, Paluxy River Bluegrass Association, Southeast Regional Folk Alliance, Southwest Regional Folk Alliance.
