For the first 2 weekends in July, The Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) in Turrialba, Costa Rica hosts the annual Cheese Festival, the largest fair in the region and second largest in Costa Rica.
For first time, Rotary Intl was represented with a booth. Pilot Knob Rotary Club members attending were Ardice Farrow and Karen McDaniels. Ten Cartago Rotary Club members worked in shifts on Saturdays and Sundays both weekends. Both Clubs support the Women Entrepreneurs and Tour Guides of RETUS, which was created through a Rotary Foundation Global Grant. The Rotary Club of Denton was the International Sponsor, and The Cartago Rotary Club was the grant Host club. RETUS was represented in the booth by their tour guides and women who own businesses that support tour groups.
