Nathan Reddin joined the Town of Northlake staff in August 2008. He manages the development activities in the town from economic development to planning and permitting. Mr. Reddin gained an early interest in planning while seeing the benefits of quality planning during his time growing up in the master planned community of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. This interest is what later brought him to Texas in 2003 to attend the City and Regional Planning masters program at the University of Texas at Arlington after graduating from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration. Before coming to Northlake, he began his career in municipal government with the City of Keller where he gained valuable experience and understanding of the development process during a period of rapid growth in the city.  

Rob Scott is a U.S. Army Airborne veteran whose service continues to shape his work in elder care advocacy and healthcare management. During his time in the Army, Rob held multiple technical and leadership roles that instilled a respect for accountability and mission-first thinking. Following his military service, he transitioned into civilian leadership roles supporting Veterans and navigating the VA healthcare system, where he focuses on improving access, coordination, and outcomes for those who have served.

Currently pursuing a degree in Healthcare Management and Leadership, Rob works at the intersection of service, systems, and ethics. His perspective is grounded in policy and lived experience, understanding firsthand how military service impacts Veterans long after the uniform comes off. Today, Rob shares how the values forged in the Army continue to guide his professional mission, and why disciplined leadership and service-oriented thinking remain essential to serving Veterans and strengthening our healthcare systems.

Retired Telecommunications Director from the University of North Texas System (1981-2007).  Licensed Peace Officer (Police) 1978-2012.  Served on the Board of Directors for Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen (2009-2015).  Volunteer & Leader with American Red Cross Disaster Response Teams locally and with Statewide deployments (2008-2015).  Elected to the Town of Shady Shores Council in 2015 and presently serving a sixth term.  Elected Mayor Pro Tem in 2019.

When I retired in 2007 I wanted to remain engaged and active in my community.  I had a neighbor that had volunteered at DCFC and recommended I check them out.  DCFC was a good match for my organizational, leadership and logistical skills.  After six months volunteering I was recruited to join the Board of Directors.  In 2008 I was elected Board Chair (reluctantly on my part).  The Board said I was the youngest member with the most energy to devote to the Food Center.  The rest is history and a marvelous chapter in my “failed retirement”. 

Kristin Van Nort serves as a Philanthropic Advisor for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In this role, she works with individual supporters to facilitate both current and planned gifts, helping them achieve their philanthropic goals at St. Jude. Prior to joining ALSAC, Kristin held several leadership roles in the nonprofit sector in Oklahoma. As Vice President of External Affairs at the CARE Center, she co-authored a children’s book on personal body safety. She also served as Director of Development at the Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation. Kristin's dedication to her community extends beyond her professional endeavors. She is actively involved in various community organizations, including the Junior League of Oklahoma City, where she is President-Elect. Kristin is also passionate about mentoring young women at the beginning of their careers. Her leadership and influence were nationally recognized during her tenure as President of the Association for Women in Communications and on the board of directors for the United Methodist News. A native of Oklahoma, Kristin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communications from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Liberal Arts in Leadership and Management from Oklahoma City University. She resides in Edmond, OK, with her husband and their two doodles.

Jack Kearney is Founder and Managing Director of Dumas Capital Partners, Trinitas Business Valuations, and ValueCatalyst. He has been a Rotarian for more than 20 years.

Dolores Kearney is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and recently retired from Texas Woman's University after 20 years as a college faculty.  She has been a Rotarian for 5 years.  

They enjoy their faith, family, and friends. And traveling! 

We will not meet on Good Friday, April 3 and our speaker for March 27, Wes Shipley, will be out of town for a funeral.  Therefore, we'll move Club Assembly from April 3 to March 27.  Thank you to Kathy and Mike for flexibility in moving their presentations.

Susan Holmes is a seasoned nonprofit executive with more than twenty years of experience leading mission-driven organizations through strategic growth, transformational fundraising, and measurable community impact. She currently serves as Chief Development Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, the oldest and largest Boys & Girls Club organization in Texas. In partnership with the CEO and Board of Directors, she is leading the organization’s long-range strategic plan and comprehensive campaign in advance of its 100th Anniversary, while overseeing government relations at the local, state, and federal levels and advancing capital expansion and emerging market initiatives.

Previously, Susan held executive leadership roles at the University of North Texas, working in the Office of the President to expand corporate and government partnerships, grow philanthropic investment, and strengthen the university’s Tier One research enterprise. She played a key leadership role in the expansion and opening of UNT’s Frisco campus, serving as liaison to city leadership, corporate partners, and regional stakeholders.

As Chief Advancement Officer at Greenhill School, she led development, alumni relations, and communications, raising $1.8 million annually and helping guide a $60 million capital campaign. Earlier, as Executive Director of the Dallas division of the American Heart Association, she managed a $10 million operation and led one of the organization’s top-performing divisions nationally.

Recognized with the Rome Betts Executive Director of the Year Award, Susan is known for building high-performing teams, cultivating trusted relationships across corporate, civic, and philanthropic sectors, and leading with integrity, service, and faith-driven purpose. Deeply engaged in the North Texas community, she actively serves on regional boards and initiatives focused on economic development, education, and strengthening families.

Jim Reid is the founder of Little Joe's Farmstead in Argyle. Little Joe's is a farm-to-table restaurant. However, there is more to Jim's story!

Brittany Sotelo serves as the Economic Development Director for the City of Denton, where she leads strategic initiatives to support business growth, investment, and long‑term economic vitality.  Before joining Denton, Brittany was the Vice President of Business Retention and Expansion for the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation building programs to grow and retain businesses in the Coastal Bend. She previously worked for the City of Arlington’s Office of Economic Development as an Economic Development Specialist, supporting major projects and community partnerships.  Earlier in her career, Brittany managed the business retention and expansion program for the Odessa Chamber of Commerce and served as a Business Consultant for the UT Permian Basin Small Business Development Center, where she advised entrepreneurs on launching and scaling their businesses in the Permian Basin.   Brittany holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

Terri Loddick is the owner and President of Proscapes Lawn & Tree Care. Terri started Proscapes in April 2004 after being in the industry since 1988. She graduated college with a degree in Horticulture/Agribusiness and has spent 38 years becoming an expert in this industry. She is a turf and tree diagnostic and solutions specialist, with a level of mastery that is uncommon in the Texas landscape industry. Terri & her team have been working in Robson Ranch for 21 years now, and as such, brings great knowledge and experience to our unique part of North Texas.  She is going to speak with us today about successful watering for our Robson Ranch landscapes

Pat Smith: Visionary Leader and Community Builder

Pat Smith brings over four decades of distinguished experience spanning the U.S. Air Force and the nonprofit sector. Throughout his career, he has led transformative projects—from constructing air bases and military housing to developing nonprofit service centers—while collaborating with local governments, universities, churches, and community organizations.

A proud graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Pat earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and went on to complete two master’s degrees from Air University in Engineering Management and Strategic Studies. His academic foundation and leadership expertise fueled a career defined by innovation and service.

After retiring from the Air Force in 2008, Pat turned his vision toward community impact. In 2011, he founded Serve Denton with a bold mission: to create a centralized hub for health and human services. What began as an idea is now a thriving $7 million, 5-acre campus featuring 52,000 square feet of space that houses 28 nonprofits and mission-aligned organizations. Serve Denton has become a model for other communities nationwide, sharing best practices and inspiring similar initiatives.

Pat’s commitment to service extends beyond his organization. He has served on numerous nonprofit and government boards and led major community projects. A dedicated Rotarian for 13 years, Pat is a member of the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club, where he chaired the Community Service Committee for five years and now serves as President-elect.

A lifelong advocate of servant leadership, Pat has mentored countless emerging leaders and launched programs such as Leading with Excellence and Embracing Servant Leadership to amplify his impact. His dedication to empowering others and strengthening communities earned him the Otis L. Fowler Award in 2023—the highest honor bestowed by the Denton Chamber of Commerce for individuals who make significant contributions to the progress and welfare of the community.

Pat and Jana have been married for 40 years and have three sons and seven grandchildren.  He is an avid reader, gardener, and native plant enthusiast.

John Seale is the US Director for Ndoto: For Africa's Future.  A Dallas native, John has spent his career in nonprofit work, including at his church, eight years at a local community development organization, and now on the Ndoto team full-time since 2017.  John has been lifelong friends with Ndoto's founder, and was part of the volunteer team that founded Ndoto as a 501(c)(3) in 2009.  He has made 17 trips to Kenya since 2006.  He has a business degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary.  John lives in Dallas with his wife, Katie, who is a worship leader, son Daniel, and daughter Hannah.

Michael Omondi is the Kenya Director for Ndoto: For Africa's Future.  Born and raised in slum communities in Kisumu and Nairobi, Kenya, Michael was an early part of Ndoto's ministry and one of the first recipients of an Ndoto sponsorship.  He has been on Ndoto's Kenya staff since 2011 and planted Ndoto Community Church in 2014.  Michael is now married to Ndoto's founder, Allison Schlack, and has three beautiful children, Michaela, Judah, and Jeremiah, all born in Kenya.  They moved to the US in 2025 to work for Ndoto from this side.  Michael has a Bachelor's in theology from Kenya Highlands Evangelical University and a Master's in Transformational Leadership from Bakke Graduate University.

Dean Keith is officially retired, which means he is doing more things than when he was working full-time. He started his side gig, The Computer Dean, in 2009 after realizing that many of the folks his age were struggling to keep up with changes in technology. Computer technology has been his hobby since he wrote his first program in high school in 1969. Until recently, he taught technology classes for people over 65 through Dallas College. His online classes for Windows, iPhone, Computer Security, and Office 365 were well attended. He is a member of the storytelling community, where he co-leads the North 40 Storytellers guild. He facilitates the drama group at the Carrollton Senior Center and serves on the board of the Friends of the Carrollton Public Library. He is also a board member of his HOA and a member of the Carrollton League of Writers. He and his wife, Kathy, have two daughters, one grandson, one dog, and one son-in-law. He has been a member of Bent Tree Bible Fellowship since 1978.
